SO is out of town, my Saturday event got rained out, and I don’t have Friday plans. I have a project that has me limited to “one day a week” on car stuff, so part of me is thinking of becoming a hermit this weekend and just working on cars during time allotted for other stuff.
The Alfa gets priority as I we’re doing the front end tech session on the 29th and I still haven’t done my “homework” of grinding back the welds and painting everything. Buuuut I paid extra to get the Saab a new radiator by Saturday, so I should probably go ahead and put that in.
Or I could be a normal human and go do social things...

That’s that my plan this weekend. Been traveling every week for the last month dreaming about getting stuff done on the car. My girlfriend is working all weekend, so I’ve got a two day date with my tools.
Social things are overrated, cars don’t care if you’re charming.

At this point I am looking at taking time off work to do the brakes on my car. It’s coming down to that or staying up late and working outside in the dark, in April.
I’ll probably take at least a half-day to get my boat ready for the water this year.
Work + small kids + wife with crazy job = my free time is pretty much at night.

9 times out of 10 I’d pass up a social function to work on a car. But that’s because I’m an introvert who finds working on cars peaceful while social functions are awkward.

I’m with you. I’m very blunt, especially towards stupid people, so social events tend to turn very awkward very quickly.
